The ever-popular George
Penman brings his band to the 6th Ayr Jazz Festival. George is no
stranger to Ayr but wherever he appears, he commands a great following.
The band, formed in 1959 will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in September 2009 -
surely a sign of its popularity.
A real trad
band providing an excellent mix of music which will have you rocking in the
aisles!
George and "the lads" make their second appearance at the festival,
having gone down a storm last year and will have their newly launched cd
"Glasgow Downtown Jazz" on sale at their gig.
Ayr Jazz Club members and friends will swing into 2009 to the music of George Penman's Jazzmen at their Hogmanay Party at the Fairfield Hotel on 31 December. Anyone interested in attending should speak to Katy.
