Debbie Arthurs (Percussion, Saxophone and Vocals) has played in
the professional “Charleston Chasers” Jazz Orchestra since school days and
is one of the country’s finest exponents of 1920s hot jazz percussion and
singing. In recent years she has branched out as a band leader, charming
audiences at such festivals as Bude, Keswick, Whitley Bay and numerous jazz
clubs. Her recent CD tribute to the 1920s recording star Annette Hanshaw
has been well received. The spirit of Art Deco Hot Jazz lives on in this
remarkably versatile young musician, who has now been contracted by Lake
Records.
