HOT FINGERS

Thomas        "

Led by Tom "Spats" Langham on banjo, guitar and ukelele as well as vocals.  Superb mix of Hot Club, Vaudeville songs, hot dance numbers, vintage jazz and much more, attracting all age groups.

Spats is joined by Danny Blyth (guitar, mandolin & clarinet) and Malcolm Sked (bass, sousaphone)

Thomas "Spats" Langham is one of the finest exponents of classic jazz guitar/banjo playing and singing around today. Having only just reached 30, Thomas has played professionally all his working life, touring with The Passadena Roof Orchestra and others from the age of 16! He plays regularly at The Crown and Trumpet with his trio "Hot Fingers" and has recently released a CD modestly titled "The Hottest Man in Town".

Hot Fingers play an eclectic mix of vintage acoustic string music. ‘Hot Fingers’ visit the hot jazz of 1920’s New York and sophisticated 1930’s Swing. From the ‘French Coffee House’ sound of the king of gypsy swing Django Reinhardt, the early blues of Lonnie Johnson, the syncopated Latin rhythms of artists such as Argentinean Oscar Aleman, and the jazz and swing pioneers Eddie Lang and Dick McDonough. This is mixed with vocals from the song-writing greats such as Cole Porter and Irving Berlin as well as novelty features from the likes of Cliff ‘Ukulele Ike’ Edwards.
